What Was Odysseus Revenge On The Suitors Was It Justified?

In Homer’s The Odyssey, Odysseus’ ten-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War is documented. When he returns, he finds out that suitors from all over have been staying in his house, trying to win his wife’s affections, eating his food, and sleeping with his servants. This enrages Odysseus and he goes on a rampage, killing each and every one of them. His conscience deemed them all guilty, so he stormed back into his palace and slaughtered them without remorse. Even though Odysseus is the suitors’ host, they have acted inappropriately in his home and he has a right to take action. Telemachus was so frustrated by the suitors that he begged them for one night of peace. Furthermore, they even plotted to kill Odysseus when he returned. To prevent this from happening, Odysseus had to kill all the suitors, as there was no other way. Phemius and Medon were spared because they were forced to entertain the suitors.
